The 2023 Valero Alamo Bowl will be played at the 65,000 seat Alamodome in San Antonio and broadcast on ESPN on Thursday, December 28. The game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. CST.
About the Valero Alamo Bowl:
The Valero Alamo Bowl was created in 1993 to bring enjoyment to San Antonians, South Texans, and visitors alike while creating positive economic impact, experiences, and national attention for our community and participating universities.
The organization has produced 30 bowl games and served as the local host for 11 neutral site games. The 30 Valero Alamo Bowl games have combined to deliver over $1 billion in total economic impact to San Antonio, 161 million viewers on ESPN, 1.75 million attendees to the Alamodome, and $153 million to higher education through team payouts ($143.4 million) and local scholarships ($9.6 million).
In the 2022 Valero Alamo Bowl, #12 Washington beat #20 Texas 27-20 in front of 62,730 fans at the Alamodome and 4.8 million viewers on ESPN on Thursday, December 29. Proceeds from the event helped fund the largest local scholarship program among all bowl games.
For the 2022-2023 school year, the Valero Alamo Bowl and its partners will collectively award over $1.2 million split between students representing every participating San Antonio area high school and four-year university.
