A 11”x17” photo paper La Catrina at Muertos Illustration donated by Allison Villarreal.

About Allison Villarreal:
Allison was born in the US and raised in Mexico. She graduated with a B.S. in Architecture at the University of Texas in San Antonio.

Her commitment to illustration started in 2020 in her small studio in isolation during the pandemic. It was her haven, and it allowed her to express her feelings, dreams, and determination.

Allison is inspired by nostalgia. Her memories of growing up have stayed with her and she thinks about them when she feels sad, anxious, etc. They transport her back to good times, they are comforting. Allison wants to be able to convey these emotions in her illustrations.

Allison believes that her generation, those who had to leave their childhood country before they were adults, especially in the Hispanic community, are the bridge between their past and their future. They are stuck not belonging to one specific place, which can make you feel lonely. She wants to create a community of people whose memories are similar to hers and to be able to connect.

Allison also created the artwork for the inaugural Footbridge Foundation Off the Leash Event.

If the winner of this item cannot attend the event, collection can be arranged at a later date.
